Exploring Space and Place:
Kings Cross

Fri 9 June, 2 - 7:30pm

Central Saint Martins

London, UK

Events, free - £5

A sharing event for the arts community, educators and the general public.

We'll discuss ideas around placemaking, public participation, agency and regeneration emerging from a two-month project with local children and young people.

An exciting project led by Creative Islington, Exploring Space and Place: Kings Cross is an interrogation of placemaking. Through a series of workshops and on-site tour, the project provides local children and young people with an opportunity to creatively engage with the rapidly changing culture and landscape of Kings Cross and reflect upon their relationship to it.

Artists Dan White, Luce Choules and Ella Phillips are working with Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School (Islington) and Edith Neville Primary (Camden) to encourage different approaches to mapping the area around Central Saint Martin's using sound, performance, photography and text.

Join us to learn about the outcome of their surveys; view student's work; for a workshop discussion with artists, curators and academics; and networking.
