A free CPD evening for teachers

Wednesday, 24 September 2014 4.30 - 6.30pm

Rivington Place

London, UK

Free event

An introduction to the Autograph ABP photography archive with complimentary learning resource and exhibition tour

Join us for an informal evening and glass of wine, introducing educators to what the Autograph ABP Archive has to offer for cross-curricular teaching in Art & Design, History and Citizenship at Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5.

You’ll also receive a free copy of the Autograph ABP Archive Learning Resource, comprised of over 40 image reproductions, a series of posters, teaching booklets, worksheets and a contextualised timeline.

The writers of the Archive Learning Resource Maria Amidu, Learning Consultant, and Renée Mussai, Curator and Head of Archive, will introduce the resource and host the evening.

The session will include a guided tour of our Black Chronicles exhibition, showcasing a distinct collection of photographic imagery produced in Britain dating from the 19th century to the present day.

Acclaim for the Archive Learning Resource

This is a very professional resource. The images selected are highly emotive. The text is informative but promotes enquiry skills equally well. Provision of a timeline, teaching notes, creative and cultural activities contributes to a comprehensive resource with a specialist focus. Importantly, the resource uses material that learners are able to connect with through the choice of people, locations and issues highlighted. It provides teachers with a unique and very well presented resource linked to their locality and subject.

Ian Middleton HMI, National Advisor for Arts Crafts & Design Education, Ofsted

‘[Autograph ABP’s Archive Learning Resource] is an excellent tool...fascinating to look at and allows for multiple interpretations. It can be difficult to find resources that reflect ethnic diversity in this open ended way, and so I would encourage other schools to seek out this resource.

Siri O'Neal, P4C Co-ordinator and Year Six Teacher
