Leading curator Louise Clements, and photographer / curator Lewis Bush will provide tips on approaching organisations, working with curators and getting photography exhibitions.

Louise is Artistic Director of QUAD, a centre for contemporary art, film and new technologies in Derby UK, since 2001, and Artistic Director/Founder of FORMAT International Photography Festival since 2004.

Alongside making new work Lewis Bush is involved in curating work by other photographers, writing about contemporary and historic photography and teaching. Bush is lecturer in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communication and a visiting tutor on a number of other courses around the United Kingdom.

About the speakers

Louise Clements is Artistic Director of QUAD, a centre for contemporary art, film and new technologies in Derby UK, since 2001, and Artistic Director/Founder of FORMAT International Photography Festival since 2004. An independent curator since 1998, she has initiated commissions, publications, mass participation, art, film and photography exhibitions. She is a juror, portfolio reviewer, workshop leader, speaker and award nominator throughout Europe, America and Asia.

Lewis Bush studied history at the University of Warwick and worked as a researcher at the United Nations before studying on master’s degree program in documentary photography at the London College of Communication. Since graduation in 2012 he has developed a photographic practice which explores the relationship between photographic imagery and power. Alongside making new work he is involved in curating work by other photographers, writing about contemporary and historic photography and teaching. Bush is lecturer in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communication and a visiting tutor on a number of other courses around the United Kingdom.
